Being the Strong One—Why It’s Okay to Let Others Support You
If you’ve always been the one holding it all together… this is for you.
The one who shows up, even when no one asks how you’re doing. The one who fixes everything, makes the plan, holds the space, carries the weight. The one who rarely falls apart because you’re afraid no one will know how to hold you.
You’re strong. But strength doesn’t mean you should carry it all alone.
The Unseen Cost of Always Being “Fine”
Being the strong one often means your pain goes unnoticed. People assume you’re okay because you seem okay. They forget to check in. They think you don’t need help.
And maybe… you’ve forgotten that you deserve help too.
Strength Isn’t Suppression
True strength isn’t pretending to be unaffected. It’s having the courage to say:
-
“I’m tired.”
-
“I need help.”
-
“I don’t want to do this alone.”
Softness doesn’t weaken your strength. It supports it. Letting others in doesn’t make you less reliable—it makes you more real.
Let the Support In
You don’t have to earn rest. You don’t have to justify why you need a break. You’re allowed to receive love without performing for it.
If this season is asking you to soften—let it. You are not less strong for needing support. You’re human. And you were never meant to do this alone.
If this resonated with you—even just a little—I want you to know you’re not alone.
I recorded Episode 6 of my podcast as a quiet conversation for anyone who’s ever felt the weight of being the “strong one.”
If you’ve been craving softness, support, or just the sound of someone who gets it… this one’s for you.
