How Small Routines Became My Sacred Rituals

Because real transformation happens in the quietest moments.

I used to think growth had to be loud.

Big.
Obvious.
Cinematic.

Like one of those dramatic before-and-after moments with a tearful rock bottom and a euphoric rise.

And if you’ve ever thought your progress didn’t count because it wasn’t flashy…
I get it.
Because for a long time, I believed that too.

🎬 Why Real Change Doesn’t Look Like a Montage

You know the scenes I’m talking about:
Cue the upbeat music.
Sudden motivation.
Perfect smoothies.
A color-coded planner.
One month later: glowing skin, abs, peace, and a thriving business.

But that wasn’t my reality.

My glow-up looked like:

  • Testing three different kinds of magnesium

  • Forgetting to journal two days in a row

  • Crying while meal prepping

  • Waking up early… and then sleeping in again the next day

  • Starting over. More than once.

And here’s what I had to learn the hard way:

Starting over doesn’t mean you’re back at square one.
It means you’re bringing more wisdom with you.

🔁 Growth Isn’t Linear. It’s a Loop.

Transformation doesn’t always arrive in big, dramatic shifts.
It often shows up in tiny, daily choices that no one claps for.

Realignment looks like:

  • Journaling the same truth again and again until it finally sinks in

  • Pausing before you say yes to something you don’t want to do

  • Saying your affirmations while folding laundry

  • Choosing rest instead of “pushing through”

It’s repetitive.
Quiet.
Sometimes boring.

But that doesn’t make it any less sacred.

🌿 From Routine to Ritual: What Actually Changed Me

At some point, my routines started to feel different.

They stopped being items on a checklist…
and started becoming anchors.

A routine is something you complete.
A ritual is something that completes you.

Here are some of mine:

✨ Drinking warm lemon water while setting an intention
✨ Writing a single sentence in my journal—even if I don’t have time for more
✨ Taking a walk while listening to music that softens my mind
✨ Lighting a candle before opening my laptop
✨ Checking in with my energy before responding to messages

They’re not flashy.
But they’ve kept me grounded in the version of myself I used to only dream about.

🧘♀️ Want to Build a Ritual of Your Own?

In Episode 15 of the LTS Daily podcast, I talk all about what it really looks like to awaken in the mundane.
And why your most important shifts may be hiding in your simplest habits.

You don’t need a full reinvention.
You need trust.
You need rhythm.
You need the kind of sacred repetition that brings you back to yourself.
